Shop layout
The shop takes the shape of a long corridor heading away from the street entrance. There is just enough room for two people to pass. It is lined from floor to ceiling with rolls of fabric, collected over the last 25 years, and has a chaotic feel. You may not be able to immediately find what you want if you have something particular in mind, but the owners can put their fingers on almost anything you ask for. It is a huge and diverse if disorderly collection of fabrics, and if you have sharp eyes you will always come across a few surprises.
Stock
The range of fabric is extensive but presented in such a manner that it may not appear comprehensive. You can always find something special, but you can’t always guarantee it will stock the simple basics.
Customer service
The owners are extremely friendly and eager to help. They will make suggestions of fabric you might like. Sometimes their English is difficult to understand. Sometimes you might spot a fabric that is buried so deeply that it cannot be extracted from the heap, even with the full weight of a body behind it.
Staff knowledge
If you ask them they know a lot about their stock and about fabric composition.
