How to make a straight skirt
The straight skirt is a simple, fitted skirt, shaped at the waist to give an elegant figure. It is made of three main pieces of fabric - one to form the front and two at the back. Three additional strips of fabric form a waist band. It fastens with a zip in the centre at the back.
The skirt can be made with a narrow or a wide waistband, or with no waistband at all. It can be made extremely short, to accentuate the appearance of long legs, or longer for a smarter look. It can be made with multiple pieces of fabric of different colours and patterns. It can be made with slits up each side, or up the back.
