Huge warehouse-type premises, with fabric stacked on rolls vertically and on shelves in the back room. Has a bit of a bare and spartan feel due to the size of the shop.
Stock
Borovick seems to stock a huge range of ‘cheap and cheerful’ type fabrics, covering all the basics and more. It also had some genuinely weird fabrics, such as poly-cotton printed with pictures of babies kissing, when I was there.
Borovick also stocks Dylon dye, zips, thread, basic trimmings (ribbon and bias binding), pins, fastenings, elastics, needles and fabric scissors. It is the only shop on Berwick Street to comprehensively stock the haberdashery basics.
Customer service
Practical, straightforward, cheerful and helpful Londoners with a wink and a sparkle in their eyes.
Staff knowledge
The men at Borovick obviously know their stock inside out.
