Shop layout
U&I Trimmings is a tiny space with only really room for you and the owner, but a treasure trove with everything you could need haberdashery-wise. The shop makes use of the outdoor space to display zips in drawers. Other bits and bobs – tailors chalk, unpickers, pins – are hidden away behind curtains of trimmings like dangling seaweed inside, and you’ll need to ask before you find them.
Stock
There is a brilliant range of zips and a wide range of trimmings from basic bias binding to unusual African embroidered trimmings. There is a fairly large amount of thread, though it’s quite a haphazard collection. There is also a variety of buttons, some mingling together in a big bucket that you need to sift through. They also sell some fabric.
Customer service
The lady who runs this shop is really nice - and kind and patient and helpful. She sometimes tells you to have a bless-ed day on the way out.

She knows exactly what she has and will find it for you if she has it.
